Our 12th Year Anniversary

We celebrated our 12th year anniversary a few weeks back and only had time to post pictures today.

Since we were in London this year, I decided it would be fun to visit some of the places we went to on our first date twelve years ago. This time we kind of did it backwards…

Twelve years ago, we stood infront of our lion in Trafalgar Square and ended the night with our first kiss huddled together in the freezing rain. This time, we went to see the lion first and reminised about how far our relationship has gone and what we went through to get so far.

Then as we walked passed the fountain, we threw pennies making wishes for the future.

We then went into the National Gallery to see the Modernist painters that inspired us so long ago. I still remember holding Pete’s hand standing infront of Van Gogh’s famous Sunflowers and Monet’s Lilies. Monet’s lilies was replaced with  a few other Monet paintings which we havent seen before.

Next we went to Leicester Square to get movie tickets.. the first movie we saw together that day was the film adaptation of 101 Dalmations. Hardly a classic I know but I loved the disney cartoon since I was small and I still can recite ANY LINE from that cartoon… upon request!

We decided to get tickets for Inkheart which played later that night, there was a fairground in the tiny square and I convinced Pete to go on the Carousel with me… 32 years old and riding round on a gaudy horse in circles with twinkling lights still made me giddy with excitement!!

We then walked over to China town because twelve years ago, Pete decided since I am ‘Asian’ I might like some Chinese food… We had pizza instead in Pizza Express just by China town!

This time however, I really did fancy Chinese food so we stopped in one of the very many restaurants there for a surprisingly moderately priced meal considering China town is such a touristy place.. Only 12 years late! Hehehe

We finished our meal just in time to catch the movie!

It was fun reliving our first date eventhough we did everything out of sequence! I hope we have many many more anniversaries.
