New York Day Two Part Two

I met up with Mahari and insisted that we go to one of the most famous landmark I know… the Empire State Building (images of King Kong and Meg Ryan in Sleepless in Seattle) and Mahari happily obliged! He has been working in New York for over three years and has never even been there!!

The Empire State Building is a 102-story art deco skyscraper in New York City, New York at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and West 34th Street. Its name is derived from the nickname for the state of New York. It stood as the world’s tallest building for more than forty years, from its completion in 1931 until construction of the World Trade Center’s North Tower was completed in 1972.[citation needed] Following the destruction of the World Trade Center in 2001, the Empire State Building again became the tallest building in New York City. *Wikipedia Definition… Thanks Wiki!

It was reasonably warm when we first bought the tickets on the ground floor.. but when we finally reached the 86th floor the winds were viciously cold!! I was really glad to have brought my (borrowed) thick coat! It was incredibly windy and was a bit foggy but the views were spectacular! Took some lovely photos and here they are!

  1. Amazing… sounds like you guys had a lot of fun!! When i went there with my friends, we didn’t go up the empire state bldg, instead we went up the Rockefeller bldg… that way, we could see the NYC skyline with the empire state bldg all lit up… it was so beautiful!! :)

  3. I think it was Meg Ryan that acted in You’ve Got Mail? And wssn’t it Sleepless in Seattle that had the meeting at the top of the Empire State Bldg?

  5. Ehem…CQ, u r soo still blurred from your trip. Yes, it is Meg Ryan, but as Melanie up there pointed out, it’s ‘Sleepless in Seattle’. Heheheh!!
    New York….everyone knows how much I want to go there!! J.E.A.L.O.U.S!! Nuff said… siok usulnya!!
